This series contains seven different creative strategies but utilizes the same ordinary object in each composition: a pair of scissors. Each image has a concept within it and is meant to puzzle the viewer at first glance.
Combination: bringing two objects together to create something new.
Juxtaposition: showing the differences between two images that are unlikely to be put together.
Isolation: separating an object from it's surroundings.
Metaphor: focused on the meaning behind the objects.
Change of Context: places object in an unexpected context.
Physical Shape Similarity: using another object with a shape that resembles your object of choice.
Material Swap: swaps a material we are accustomed to on a specific object with a different, unexpected material.
